Spotlight on Howard Weisberg

Howard Weisberg started out his insurance career as a life insurance agent in 1976. At the advice of college recruiters, he tried to create his own business but ultimately decided to join a Property & Casualty agency. Howard stayed at the agency as a producer for 20 years, and that is how his relationship with Maryland Auto began. When he left the agency in 1997, Maryland Auto was one of three carriers that came with him as he started his new venture, HBW Insurance Group, Inc.

Not quite sure of what to expect, Howard says that the first couple of years as a business owner were definitely eye opening. “Having steady carrier relationships such as Maryland Auto and joining Potomac Insurance Network have proved invaluable to me in navigating the insurance landscape for both my agency and my clients,” says Howard. “The close relationships we have forged with Executive Director, Al Redmer Jr. and his team are to the benefit of both our fellow agents and our customers,” says Howard. “Our focus on increases in commercial liability limits have borne fruit over the past few years, which is great news for our clients.”

As the longest serving member agency of Potomac Insurance Agency, Howard has often serves as a mentor to many of the network’s other agents. Outside of the office he also has engaged in a 35-year participation with 2 different Rotary Clubs and have served as President of the Rotary Club of Baltimore on 3 separate terms. He has also chaired the Rotary Club of Baltimore’s annual Oyster Roast event for 18 straight years.
