Baltimore, MD — Maryland Auto Insurance launched a new online consumer quoting and purchasing portal on September 1. The new quoting portal provides consumers with an improved user experience and advances Maryland Auto’s mission of making auto insurance accessible for all Maryland drivers.

The new quoting process minimizes data entry for the consumer by auto-filling driver and vehicle information based on driver’s license information. This expedited process, which can take as little as five minutes to complete, increases the likelihood that consumers will complete the process and receive a quote.

The new portal is accessible in Spanish language and allows customers to obtain an auto insurance quote 24/7.

Policies sold through Maryland Auto’s online portal are assigned to one of the more than 1,400 authorized Maryland Auto producers (agents) across the state who are trained to assist Maryland Auto policyholders.

“As the Former Insurance Commissioner, I’m very aware of how online sales have permeated the market. In order to serve customers, and to fulfill our mission to reduce the number of uninsured drivers on Maryland roads, it’s vital to have an online quoting and purchasing tool that consumers can engage with on their terms. We are making it easier than ever for Maryland residents who’ve had trouble getting insurance in the standard market to obtain an online quote,” says Maryland Auto Executive Director Al Redmer, Jr.

In developing the new quoting system, Maryland Auto incorporated technological advancements made during, FineFix, the state’s auto fine forgiveness program that recently ended. The new simplified quoting process for consumers brings Maryland Auto’s system in line with insurance industry best practices.
