Maryland Automobile Insurance is seeking a dynamic Casualty Claims Supervisor to direct and manage a team of Casualty Claim Adjusters. This position will support the growth and profitability of the Claims Department by ensuring exceptional customer service to policy holders, claimants, attorneys, and other insurance professionals.
Job duties include:
- Reviewing claim files and determining course of action
- Overseeing litigation, ensuring timely and accurate handling
- Providing reports to management
- Developing and mentoring claim employees to achieve high levels of quality, service, and teamwork
- Interviewing applicants and making selection recommendations
- Evaluating work performance of assigned employees
- Initiating salary adjustments, promotions, and disciplinary actions
- Approving work and leave time of assigned employees
Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of experience in automobile liability claims. Additional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Experience in negotiating with attorneys and establishing litigation strategy is beneficial. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Bilingual skills, fluency in both English and Spanish, are a plus.

Additional Information:
This position will report to a Claims Manager and will supervise other employees. This is a flextime position scheduled for 40 hours each week. Duties of the position may require work during evenings, weekends or holidays. Additional hours worked, with prior supervisory approval, will be compensated as compensatory time.
