Maryland Auto Insurance is seeking an experienced, motivated, and organized Financial Analyst for our Accounting Department. Qualified candidates must have the ability to analyze large sets of data. This position also handles related accounting functions.
The majority of the Financial Analyst’s responsibility will revolve around reporting deliverables of the department. This individual will be expected to conduct analysis around financial results in order to produce a monthly commentary, board meeting deliverables, and other periodic reporting. The individual will work with areas such as premium losses and expenses to both create and continue existing reporting to management on a periodic basis (i.e. monthly, quarterly, or as needed).
Requirements:
Qualified candidates will possess a BS in Accounting, Finance, or other related field, and at least 5 years progressive accounting experience. Must have strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS applications is necessary, as well as ability to maintain a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, and confidentiality. Candidates should also have experience with trend analysis and projections under various “what if” scenarios. Experience with “modelling” is preferred as well.
Additional Information:
This position will report to a Fiscal Supervisor and will not supervise other employees. This is a flextime position scheduled for 40 hours each week. Duties of this position may require work during evenings, weekend, or holidays. Additional hours worked, with supervisory approval, will be compensated as compensatory time.
