Maryland Automobile Insurance is seeking a motivated and organized individual for our Casualty Claims Unit in our Baltimore office at McHenry Row. This position supports the Claims Department by ensuring exceptional customer service to policy holders, claimants, attorneys, and other insurance professionals.

Job duties include:

  • Determining applicability of coverage
  • Recommending and authorizing the activities necessary to affect the disposition of claims
  • Opening, closing, and adjusting various reserves
  • Conducting investigations
  • Negotiating, settling, and closing claims
  • Documenting activities in accordance with established procedures

Requirements:

Qualified applicants will possess a bachelor degree and at least two years of experience in automobile liability claims, including bodily injury claims. Bilingual skills, fluency in both English and Spanish, a plus.  Additional experience may be substituted for the college education at a rate of one year of experience for 30 college credits.

Additional Information:

This position will report to a Casualty Claims Supervisor and will not supervise other employees. This is a flextime position scheduled for 40 hours each week. Duties of the position may require work during evenings, weekends, or holidays. Additional hours worked, with prior supervisory approval, will be compensated as compensatory time.
